Dialing in on Clean with Dial Miracle Oil Giveaway

We have land, some chickens needed a home and so begins this tale.  Last night we adopted 6 baby chicks.  The children are absolutely thrilled. Hand washing is at an all time high, because they can't keep their hands off the chickens.  We want them to make sure after touching those little blobs of fluff that they have absolutely cleaned their hands.

We still are keeping our Dial Sugar Cane Hand Scrub in the bathroom and now have a new product in the kitchen.  This it the new Dial Miracle Oil Soap.  This conditioning soap leaves hands clean while adding  a refreshing moisture from the micro scrubbers.  I favor this soap for the whole family, because it has a nice scent that is very gender neutral and long lasting.  We have been buying the Miracle Oil body wash now since getting  a free sample through Purex Insiders.

The Miracle Oil really works and leaves me feeling confident that the kids are getting their hands thoroughly clean until the next time they want to handle those chicks.  You can try some for yourself by entering to win one of two coupons.
As always my opinions expressed here are my own and are honest.  I received a sample of this product in exchange for this review.

Children's Birthday Parties... Rocking Good Times

When your kids are young, they tend to get invited to a lot of birthday parties.  I think parents of Kindergarteners are especially subject to the whole class invite situation.  At this stage you probably accept most all of the invites.  First of all,  you want to be kind to the birthday child and secondly it is a great way to meet the other parents in this age of not knowing your neighbors.

It is not all that bad and sometimes the parents order extra food.  So not only do you not have to prepare lunch that day, but at good parties you may even get your own slice of cake. Then there are times when cake options are left to scooping up your child's half licked leftover  piece.  My daughter always takes the cake, but never eats it so I am set every single time.  Now at children's' parties you will find a certain group of moms who will not accept the food.  Not even that extra cake, it is always, "oh no thank you I already ate.". Let's be honest, there is a reason they are thin and self control at birthday parties may lead to wight loss.  Don't join them though, there are only a few simple pleasures for a parent who is stuck at a jump house party with 25 screaming kids and eating pizza and cake are included in that.

Finally, as you pull your filthy germ infested child off the bouncy house and are ready to make a break for it, you may be stopped to be given the crap.  You know what I am speaking about.... the party favor or gift bag. This is the stuff you usually pick up off the carpet to through away while vacuuming.  Since our move, I have found here the bags mostly contain candy.  Cecily was exhilarated by a party bag containing a sugar filled baby bottle.  By the time I had her strapped in her car seat and put the car in reverse, she had discovered the delight and was sucking away.  My daughter has a junk radar, the wore it is the happier she becomes. What led me to this post? Well I am planning Cecily's Zumba party and have reached the favor stage.  Now often I buy and give out books.  Big hit with the parents probably the kids would like to come egg my house.  So do I go ahead and order the books or should I get the echo mics?  Perhaps I should just head up to party city for the sugar filled baby bottles that I know will be a hit!

I Smell Good... Purex Crystals ScentSplash Giveaway

When Purex sent along the Pure Crystals ScentSplash, I wasn't even sure what I was trying out.  Is it detergent?  Is fabric softener?  So I just followed their instructions and put a bit into my usual daily wash.  The result is that we smell good, like fresh flowery spring day good.   I have often gotten hand me downs for the kids that smelled fabulous.   I would wonder why my laundry never smelled that good!
How can I share with those that don't see us how good we really smell?  I searched the closets for a fabric sample that represented our scent and here it is!

We tried Lavender Blossom, but there are two other scents available Fresh Mountain Breeze and Fresh Spring Waters.

I will not lie that I would be the first critic to say, why should I buy detergent and then buy on top of that a scent booster?  If I hadn't gotten to try the product myself I would have said you shouldn't, but now I am hooked.  The Purex ScentSplash makes me feel like I am doing a better job at laundry for my family.  It brightens my mood and we smell GOOD!  A little goes a long way too. You just pop it right into the washer drum.
You can enter to win one of two coupons for Purex ScentSplash provided to me through the Pure Insiders.  Good luck and hope you smell like Spring soon too!

A little goes a long way!

Dial Sugar Cane Hand Scrub Hand Soap , Now You Try It!

Hand soap is one of my favorite products to experiment with.  In fact it was one of the favors at my wedding shower.  Through Purex Insiders, Dial sent me their new fabulous Sugar Cane Scrub to try out at home.  We have been using it now for over two weeks and it is fabulous!
Here are the reasons why:

  • The scent is fresh, light, and lasting.
  • After using it, my skin feels great, the micro-scrubbers leave a conditioning effect!
  • The whole family can enjoy the soap. Between germs and just every day kid grime, I really want to encourage hand washing.  One of my children is a little more resistant to my urges, but the Dial Sugar Can Scrub was both fun and effective to use which made that child more willing!
  • It is made in the U.S.A.  You can see below that another soap purchased for us as a gift is made out of the country.  I always try to buy products that are made here, but lately is has begun to get more difficult.

  • The soap is moisturizing and since Winter has decided to encroach on Spring this year, my hands are drier than ever!
  • It cleans away dirt and we have plenty of dirt in our lives!
  • The packaging is fresh and attractive which means I am proud to display it in our home.
Now it is your turn to give it a try.  Two winners will be chosen at random, you never know one could be you!

Damn You Box Tops!

I know Box Tops are a terrific resource for school.  I get it, but I hate those little suckers and here is why.

Cut Out Guilt:

I have reached into the trashcan more than my fair share of times for the sheer guilt that I have thrown out a box, can, or container with a Box Top yearning to be cut out.  I can't throw the darn things out, it is like Box Tops turn into my children's sad eyes begging me to cut them out to help their school. Sometimes they make it to the recycle bin for a few hours, but usually the guilt kicks in and I scurry them out to be saved.

Junk Eating:

Granted Box Tops can be found on Cascadian Organic Granola, but when I send my envelope full of Box Tops in to school it is like a haunting reminder of all the crap food we ate.  Let's be honest they are usually on highly processed food. So while I think I am redeeming myself as a good parent by actually contributing to the school, I am at the same time slowly poisoning my family with added preservatives.

They Hide:

I am sure all the top rated mothers out there have a highly effective system of organizing their Box Tops, I do too.  It is called shove them in the junk drawer.  When it is time to send them in to school, I simply dig through the drawer cursing and swearing that I have more than the 10 I have found.

The Contest:

That's right folks, the school will hold a contest with some amazing prize like a class trip to the bowling alley for the top class.  Don't even try it folks! Little Suzy Smith's grandmother in Mrs. Williams' class works at General Mills so she brings in like 1,000 illegally obtained Box Tops claiming victory every year.  Your best bet is to just find out whose class has the Box Top kid in it and request that teacher every year.  It may even be worth holding your child back a grade.  I mean this is serious stuff, they could win an actual trip to the bowling alley.

They have even added one more little category for mom's like me.  Once the school collects all the Box Tops for the year, the PTO sends out letters looking for volunteers to come in and neatly clip those little buggers. So apparently just ripping them off the corner of the box that you dug out of the trash was not nearly enough to redeem my motherhood status, now they expect me to neatly clip them too.  I never worked so hard for 10 cents in my life!

Quaker Instant Steel Cut Oats

When BzzAgent asked me if I would like to try the Quaker Steel Cut Quick Oats, I jumped at the chance.

We really enjoy steel cut oats, but some mornings don't allow  the time to make a full batch on the stove top.  This would be a perfect answer to the problem! So I happily choose the Brown Sugar and Cinnamon flavor and a few weeks later my free sample arrived in the mail.
They  also make a Blueberries and Cranberries flavor.

We have eaten that box of oatmeal and purchased a second to enjoy.  It is very easy to make in the microwave and the flavor and texture is pleasing.  My favorite part though is that it leaves my house smelling like a warm oatmeal raisin cookie.  I would certainly continue to purchase this for a quick, yet filling breakfast for the mornings that I need to be on the go.  I appreciate the chance to try it free and now I will happily purchase this in the future!
