All Before 8:00 A.M.

If you are a mom then you know the second your kids get up what kind of start you are going to have. Two clues: the clocks and the tones of their little voices. This morning should have been a sleep till at least 7:30 or 8:00 kind of morning, not so as we were up before 7:00. That was my first clue. Cecily crying when I walked out the room was clue two and Cole almost crying when I asked him what type of breakfast he wanted was confirmation.
After a failed attempt to snuggle in and go back to sleep, I get Cecily to eat her cereal in her high chair and things were looking up. Cole finally selected his cereal between screams and whines and I served it up, apparently without enough milk but before I could fix it... Cecily choked on her cereal and then threw up everywhere. Not untypical for her in the past, but it has been a while since the gag thing has kicked in. I get her and the high chair cleaned up all while Cole is having a fit about not even being able to look at her since she is gross. He bolts up cereal bowl in hand and flips it over and onto the floor. Bowl shatters everywhere (first piece ever broken in the 6 years we have had it)! Cereal and milk and lots of ceramic pieces everywhere with two screaming bare foot children. Fun!
All is well now as they are fed, cleaned and re-energized. Like all situations with the Johnston children everything is fixed with food or rest. They'll rest later before we go to the Aquarium or I will never make it. Now off to reclaim a marker from some little hands.
