Here's 400K what Kind of House Could You Get?

If you have not looked up your home value on zillow.com, then don't cause you might faint. We all know the real estate market in many parts of the country is in the tank! Our house has dropped in value by 50% probably in the past few years. Luckily we bought before the peak of the market so we are in fine shape when it is time to sell.
One of our favorite things to do is house shop. We grew out of our house probably two kids and one dog ago, but have stayed. This house has allowed us to continue to be a one income family and for that we love it, for many other reasons not so much.

So let's say you had an extra 400K to buy a house in your area, what could you get? I know friends who will be able to get mcmansions and others who could get one bedroom condos where they live.
